It was the city's fault? Are you even serious? You think that guy wanted his truck flipped? So maybe Alex is a hero? This is ridiculous!
You have to remember the job he is attempting to have. It is a public relations job where he is asking companies to use his image to help sell their products to us the consumers. His ability to help sell is directly related to what the consuming public thinks of him. As you can see from this comment section, public opinion is mixed. He isn't being prevented from working or following his interests. But asking us to support companies who support him is a stretch in my opinion. I do not want a portion of my hard earned money being directed to him plain and simple. I have sympathy for him, and hope all the best for him.
I might have thought differently if he handled it differently. Basically, he attempted to mislead everyone by saying he posed for the picture and nothing else, then, when further evidence came, became tight-lipped about the whole thing. This is not the image I want to support, or someone I want as a role model for my impressionable children.
Sorry, but no I would not.
"But CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME AN IDEA WHICH MTB COMPONENT SUCKS THE MOST AND WHY IT NEEDS FIXING/REDESIGNING."
For me something to eliminate derailleurs. Internal gear box that matches the weight of current drivetrains.
Ian and Darkstar,
I'm an old guy. I grew up wanting bikes that RC designed. I thought he was a legend. I also grew up loving MBA, but thought it turned super-bad under what I perceived as RC's leadership. I started viewing Pinkbike in its' infancy and loved it too. I am also concerned with its' direction. I, like many others, don't want it to become what MBA has become. Pinkbike has so many good things going for it, and definitely has the audience. I hope comments like these help keep it honest.
Hey Ian,
I can appreciate you defending your colleague. It would be classier if you didn't try to demean a Pinkbike reader to do so. You are a grown man and don't need to resort to the "get off the drugs" comments or the "I guess you've never been further than 7-11."
Why don't you sell us on the virtues of RC, rather than hacking down readers who makes comments. Maybe then, you will change some minds.
I agree too! Pinkbike became huge because it was decent. MBA was huge once too. Keep Mr. Cunningham writing on here and see what happens. There is nothing wrong with people trying to keep Pinkbike from becoming the next MBA. Put Mike Levy on the bike and see what he has to say.
I'm guessing you are responding to a comment that has already been pulled.
"The larger wheel’s roll-over performance is better in rough terrain. In every case, the 29-inch wheel has less rolling resistance than a 26 inch wheel. It’s a fact”
I agree, however, with that in mind, why stop at 29"? Obviously that theory only works to a point and then other compromises take over, so simply stating bigger is better because it rolls over more is only part of the equation. I want to hear why he stops at 29, and not 31 for example.
x2 on Mike Levy. RC has little credibility.
Agreed. This is the best video I've watched in a while. I think this type of riding is about to explode. I wish we had more access in this part of the world.
I like the pictures myself. Mike Levy has quickly become my favourite Pinkbike writer. Keep up the good work. About Us
